HMV - Good Riddance

Good riddance to mainstream music stores like HMV.

I'm glad that the era of digital music has ushered in their demise.

Before the advent of the Internet, I used to visit HMV as a teenager to check out music. Sometimes there was a particular song I was looking for. Every time I used to ask a staff member for reference, I'd get nothing but attitude. Condescending attitude. Like they couldn't be bothered to help me find the music I wanted and liked, because the music I wanted and liked was beneath them with their superior tastes. They just wanted to get rid of me. Not help me find my music, which I was willing at that time to buy.

Now I don't buy fuck all. I download it all, and I LOL everytime nowadays I pass by an HMV outlet in a shopping mall, peer in and see that they've now had to resort to selling things like movies, T-shirts, mugs, and other junk in order to try and remain in business.

Haven't bought anything at HMV in years. Although I sometimes browse the music section to check for stuff I might want to go home and download.

HMV sucks.
